REGUPOL everroll alpine: Greater comfort and slip resistance for the world's steepest cable car

Since 14 December 2024, the new Schilthorn cable car has been impressing visitors with a technical masterpiece: with a maximum gradient of 159.4%, it is the steepest cable car in the world. On the first stage between Stechelberg and Mürren in Switzerland, it climbs around 775 metres in altitude in just over four minutes, covering a distance of approximately 1,194 metres. This is a new record.

To provide passengers with a comfortable and non-slip environment, REGUPOL everroll alpine ultimate with a thickness of 8 mm was installed in various areas. The elastic floor covering is used in the valley and middle stations as well as in the Piz Gloria building, which is perched on the summit of the Schilthorn. The floor, which was specially developed for winter sports, ensures a secure footing, even in wet conditions.
Thanks to its elastic material and robust surface, REGUPOL everroll alpine is ideal for high-traffic areas. Whether passengers are wearing ski boots, snowboard boots or normal footwear, the flooring contributes to greater comfort and slip resistance. It also dampens noise, creating a pleasant atmosphere in the stations. These features make it easy for passengers to concentrate on their journey and enjoy their surroundings.

The Schilthornbahn not only takes guests to their destination, but also provides an impressive experience along the way. As you glide upwards in the world's steepest cable car, a panoramic view opens up that is well worth seeing. This is why many glass fronts have been installed in the various stations. The REGUPOL everroll alpine floor is timeless, allowing the surroundings to shine even more. The wood materials used, for example for wall panelling, columns or benches, harmonise very well with the floor covering in the trendy colour grey.
